HOUSING:

Our housings are mostly made from galvanised steel sheet. Various types of surface finishes such as lacquer or powder coatings are applied. Housings in sheet aluminium or stainless steel are also available and can be anodised as well.

HEATING REGISTER / HEATING MEDIA:

Pumped warm water, electric heating or steam are used as heating media. In order to maintain larger heated areas, heat exchangers in various configurations are used. Heat is generated by any of the various media and stored in the heat exchanger, and subsequently transported by means  of air currents.

INLET SCREENS:

Here we distinguish between two types of induction: bottom and front. Various screen types are available: Aluminium strip mesh, fine pierced screen and microscreen. The firm TEKADOOR also has a building phase protective filter available that is temporarily mounted during the building phase to prevent any possible interior contamination of, or damage to the air curtain.

FANS:

Various types of fans are built into air curtain installations. The most common is the radial fan, usually of the double-sided intake type. The advantage of this type is its relatively low noise generation level and smaller size. It is still able to generate adequate pressure in teh air mass, called compression. For industrial air curtains teh so-called  axial fans are often used. This type of fan also achieves adequate compression in large air masses. Teh tangential or cross-flow fan is used where space is limited and the required fan output is low. It also delivers less compression than the above types.

PRESSURE AND EQUALISING CHAMBER:

Teh inlet air, sucked-in by fans via the heating register, is blown info a pressure / equalising chamber. This chamber is installed in series directly before the exhaust nozzle and is function is to ensure a constant-pressure laminar flow of outlet air across the whole width of the outlet, in conjunction with the exhaust nozzle. At the same time it reduces the level of turbulent currents. The higher the counter-pressure generated by a nozzle, the better it is for achieving laminar air flow.

AIR CURTAIN CONTROL:

An air curtain installation can be controlled manually by means of rotary switches, or electronically. The recently released cold air curtain is controlled by means of a "programmable memory control" system.

SUSPENSION SYSTEMS:

Various suspension systems are available, but basically an air curtain installation can be installed freely in the open, attached to the ceiling or inside a double ceiling. If the air curtain is built in above a false ceiling, suppports or on a sliding bracket areadvisable. Teh air curtain models ELLIPSE and COLUM have been specially designed to be mounted in the open, while the ranges SECON and CONTUR can be mounted in the open or against the ceiling.
