Thermal conditions at doorways with warm air curtain installations

An warm air curtain installations a heated volume of air is expelled at the door/doorway at a pre-set angle. Two methods of cold air screening can be distinguished:

In the standard circulation direction (SLW) air is extracted from the interior and expelled near the doorway. The recycled air current screens the door opening and mixes with any cold outside air that may be entering. The air current is diverted back towards the interior and the screened inlet.

In the reversed circulation direction (ULW) the mixed air mass is drawn in near the doorway. The air outlet is inside the room. The circulating air current screens the doorway against the ingress of cold air near the floor. The air current is diverted away from the interior. Teh volume of outside air in the sucked-in muxture causes an increase in pressure.
