Air curtain systems
Air curtain can be simply divided into two broad categories:
Warm water air curtain and cold air curtain or in certain cases, also ambient air curtain.
For reasons of economy warm air curtains should be installed on the inside of a room, ablove or next to the door. Its air stream should reduce temperature exchange while at the same time create an area of comfort near the doorway. Cold or ambient air curtains are only unsed to create barriers and are mostly used in industry.
The cold room air curtain is used in larger cold storage facilities, especially at truck docking stations. In contrast to a warm air curtain, its function is to prevent the egress of cold air from the cold room area and the ingress or warmer air in the cold room area.
The cold room air curtain has two distinguishing features:
In the first instance it prevents bothersome and potentially dangerous fogging and ice formation in the door/entrance area; secondly it contributes substantially to energy savings.
